Solo & Group Practices

  • Robust physician engagement strategy with Affiliation Agreements including EMR access, and participation in urgent care, case conferences & e-referrals.
  • Innovative strategic planning process embodying the principles of quadruple aim as well as programs and services evaluation in the context of changing political, economic, and social realities.
  • Developed and implemented Advance Care Planning (ACP) guidelines with clinical and legal alignment.
  • Developed and implemented a chart audit strategy for a multi-site community health center that emphasized outcome measures while also meeting accreditation standards.
  • Brought practical awareness of including social determinants of health and mental health programming to primary care.

Acute Care

Hospitals

  • Created and executed professional, patient and consumer marketing strategies for companies in medical devices, pharmaceutical and technology industries generating revenue including +$100M sales and 23% growth.
  • A strong ability to connect with physicians and front line staff through shared experience and active listening.
  • Proposed a new technology strategy for Acute and Ambulatory Care to integrate systems, leverage eHealth technology, and simplify data submission compliance.
  • Conducted stakeholder interviews of clinical departments, group consultations with front line staff as part of a multi-site operational review.
  • Engaged hospital Emergency Department’s staff, physicians and management to introduce programming that reduces unnecessary visits, reduces inpatient admissions and increases connection to primary care.
  •  Developed strategic plans followed by operational plans and balanced scorecards at the corporate and programmatic levels in accordance with corporate priorities. 
  •  Establish a culture where staff and volunteers are unafraid of making mistakes,
    and where calculated risk-taking and fun were part of core values, as are performance and accountability.
  • Spearheaded partnerships with other teaching hospitals, primary care providers including solo physicians, community mental health and addictions, as well as supportive housing organizations toward an integrated delivery of services. 

Long Term Care & Retirement Homes

Elderly Care

  • Actively supporting LTC in developing standards for IPAC, PPE and testing protocols.

  • Assisted East Toronto Family Physician Network and Michael Garron Hospital connect to 20 LTC and RH homes in the East OHT and further assisted resolving questions regarding public health and Ministry information, policy suggestions and clarifying relationships between partners.

     

  • Spearheaded negotiations for Service Accountability Agreements with Ministry including other accountability and public reporting measures.
  • Lead the introduction of Management Information System (MIS) including the development of reporting standards and chart of accounts.
  • In collaboration with Ministry of Health and LTC, developed and implemented a new capital program for 35,000 LTC beds including new design and retrofit standards with additional funding.

  • Directed development of sector level annual operating plans which advocated for additional resources and improvement in accountability measures for financial management and human resources systems.

  • Regularly involved with Ministry staff, LHINs and other stakeholders in evaluating alternative funding mechanisms including Health Based Allocation Methodology (HBAM).
